REGISTRATION CHECKLIST

Use this checklist to help gather the information that you need to register for the CTEL Examination.

1. Review your registration options.

Select a registration method—Internet or telephone. Depending on the registration period (regular, late, or emergency), you have the following choices:

Regular Late Emergency
Internet registration is available during the regular registration period
Internet registration is available during the late registration period
Internet registration is available during the emergency registration period Telephone registration is available during the emergency registration period

2. Prepare your payment.
Payment must be made by credit, debit, or check card (VISA or MasterCard only), as described in "Test Fees and Payment Policies."
3. Gather the personal information you need to register.
When you register for the CTEL Examination, you will be asked to provide the following information:
  • Name (use your legal name that appears on your government-issued identification)
  • Address
  • Daytime telephone number (required for Internet registration)
  • U.S. social security number (required for Internet registration)
  • Date of birth (required to access your unofficial CTEL results on the Internet)
  • Ethnicity (optional)
  • Gender (optional)
  • E-mail address (required for Internet registration only)
Your test results will be provided to the CTC according to your social security number and your date of birth. Failure to provide this information correctly during registration may delay or jeopardize the issuance of a credential to you.
4. Review the background questions.
When you register for the CTEL Examination, you will be asked to answer some background questions. Refer to "Background Questions" to prepare answers to the questions you will be asked during registration.
5. Review the Rules of Test Participation.
Before you register, you must read and agree to abide by the policies stated in "Compliance with Testing Rules," including the Rules of Test Participation, and all procedures and policies contained in the 2009–2010 CTEL Registration Bulletin.
